PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair capable of eliminating the pressure of the lumbar vertebra or pulling the lumbar vertebra at the time of sitting down. SOLUTION: A distance between all or a part of a backrest 1, armrests 2 and underarm supports, and a seat plate 4 is made adjustable. In the case of a floor chair, the positions of the backrest, the underarm supports and the armrests can be set so as to be matched with an individual so that the hips float. Arms are placed on the armrests of the chair, the load on the upper half body is supported by the frictional force between the underarm supports, the backrest and the back, the armrests are elevated from the seat plate of the chair or the seat plate is lowered to the armrests, and the pressure on the lumbar vertebra is removed or the lumbar vertebra is stretched by the weight of the lower half body to reduce backache.
