<p>The feed unit (1), to push a hard or soft solder wire on a linear path along its axis, advances the wire until its free end (2) strikes a counter surface (3). The counter pressure on the wire, from the surface, is registered by an electro-mechanical sensor (5) rigidly attached to the feed. The electronic measurement signal from the sensor is taken as an input signal into the control unit. The feed unit, together with the spool (10) of solder wire, is mounted at a holder (11) on the swing arm of a automatic welding assembly or a robot.</p> |
