Herein described is a refining segment for a refining disc of a machine for refining lignocellulose fibrous material and further natural or synthetic materials. The refining segment includes two or more adjacent refining sections radially located for performing one or more refining working stages. Each refining section comprises one or a plurality of refining portions characterized in that they comprise a plurality of bars and grooves and one or a plurality of removing channels located between adjacent refining sections. The refining section may alternatively comprise a plurality of distribution channels for distributing dough between the refining portions, the bars and the grooves. The invention further describes the refining disc, which includes a plurality of refining segments as well as a manufacturing method thereof based on models of exchangeable refining sections.
