<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate and increase the speed of the clearing operation of a jammed sheet in a sheet path for switchback and sheet paths therearound. <P>SOLUTION: This double-sided image forming device comprises a device body part 1 having an image forming means 3 and a sheet inverse mechanism part 2 carrying a recording sheet having an image formed on its one surface by the image forming means 3 into the second sheet path for switchback through the first sheet path and re-feeding the recording sheet switched back from the second sheet path to a device body part 1 through the third sheet path. The recording sheet re-fed to the device body part 1 is re-fed to the image forming means 3, and an image is formed on the other surface of the recording sheet. A part of a sheet inverse mechanism part 2 is formed of an inverse cassette, and the inverse cassette is allowed to extend to the front side of the device, forms the second sheet path, and forms the third sheet path.
