PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera with a horizontal holding support function with which a horizontal holding support straight line suitable for supporting horizontal photography is displayed without passing through a process for calculating an inclination angle from a detection value of a posture detection means and which requires no switching even at the time of vertical position photography. SOLUTION: The electronic camera has the posture detection means consisting of an acceleration sensor in which a first detection axis is arranged perpendicular to a lens axis of a camera and in parallel with a horizontal axis of the camera and a second detection axis is arranged in parallel with a perpendicular axis and a horizontal holding support straight line display control means for displaying a camera posture inclination straight line indicating an inclination degree of the camera according to a detection result of the posture detection means and a photographed image horizontal straight line similarly indicating the inclination degree of a photographed image, the horizontal holding support straight line display control means performs control so that a straight line passing through coordinate points (h = a detection value of the second detection axis, v = a detection value of the first detection axis) and the origin is displayed as a camera posture inclination straight line and a straight line passing through coordinate points (values by performing positive/negative reverse of h = the detection value of the second detection axis, v = the detection value of the first detection value) and the origin is displayed as a photographed image horizontal straight line.
