PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a prepared oil quantity required for maintenance without specially cleaning the inside of an oil treating apparatus, and to reduce a stored and controlled quantity of insulation oil after cleaning. SOLUTION: In maintaining an oil-containing electric machine 1 using insulation oil 2 containing a small amount of PCB, the insulation oil 2 restored from the machine 1 via the oil treating apparatus 6 is temporarily reserved in a reservoir tank 7, and the restored oil temporarily reserved is once returned into the machine 1. Thereafter, supplementary oil 8a containing no PCB is transferred from a spare tank 8 via the oil treating apparatus 6 to the reservoir tank 7, and then returned again from the reservoir tank via the oil treating apparatus to the electric machine.
