PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric type engine starter, eliminating unnecessary members, providing rational design, and achieving ultimate compactness and light weight. SOLUTION: A battery is disposed on the external, a power accumulating part 110 comprises a rotation support member 112 and 212 to support one end of a spring 111 and 211, and a first gear 113 and 213 is formed in the rotation support member 112 and 212. On an output shaft 133 of a high reduction mechanism 132, a second gear 132b is fixed, and the first and the second gears 113, 213, and 132b are engaged with each other. The power accumulating part 110 and a power transmitting part 120 are disposed on the same first axial line. A compact electric motor and the high reduction mechanism are disposed on the same second axial line that is parallel to the first axial line.
