PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the analysis of tire behavior and simulation accurately with the contacting part of a tire taken into consideration. SOLUTION: As the reference the case is adopted in which a friction coefficientμ<SB>o</SB>exist at any arbitrary grounding pressure P<SB>o</SB>, sliding velocity V<SB>o</SB>, and temperature T<SB>o</SB>, and a contacting condition in another part of the tire is assumed having a grounding pressure P1, sliding velocity V1, and temperature T1. Then determination is made for the change rate Cp of the friction coefficientμwhen a change takes place from P<SB>o</SB>to P1, the change rate Cv of the friction coefficientμwhen a change takes place from V<SB>o</SB>to V1, and the change rate Ct of the friction coefficientμwhen a change takes place from T<SB>o</SB>to T1.
