PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a matter that a memory control circuit must be configured every time when such conditions as the memory capacity, memory access rate, or the like, are different. SOLUTION: The recorder comprises a means for altering configuration of a memory, and a means for selecting a stored memory. In a recorder having different size of recorder, recording head arrangement, print resolution, and number of recording colors, optimal circuitry can be taken with the same control circuit by determining the configuration while judging the required memory capacity, memory access rate, and processing capacity of memory for each block or each processing.
