PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blood purification apparatus easily manufactured and capable of imparting hydrophilic property to blood contact side faces while leaving hydrophobic property to dialysis fluid contact side faces of hollow fiber membranes. SOLUTION: In the blood purification apparatus 1 using the hollow fiber membranes formed of a hydrophobic polymer, an aqueous solution of a hydrophilic polymer is allowed to flow through a blood contact part of a module formed by charging a bundle of hollow fiber membranes in a casing 2. The hydrophilic polymer is thereby stuck and held only on the surface of the blood contact part, and the extra hydrophilic polymer out of the stuck and held hydrophilic polymer is washed away with water to selectively stick and hold the hydrophilic polymer stuck and held with predetermined adsorption force.
