Disclosed is a practically excellent piezoelectric actuator. Specifically disclosed is a piezoelectric actuator comprising a piezoelectric device (2) including a piezoelectric ceramic and an electrode formed on at least a part of the surface of the piezoelectric ceramic, and a holding member (4) for holding the piezoelectric device (2). The piezoelectric ceramic satisfies at least one or more of the following conditions (a)-(e): (a) the bulk density is not more than 5g/cm³ and Young's modulus (Y₁₁ ^E)
