The desk lamp, from a converted garden water tap or faucet, has a shortened valve spindle and an insulation disk (8) fitted into the valve seat. A mounting (12) is fitted into the outflow pipe (5) by cold welding. The low voltage lamp (11) is fitted into the mounting, and a shade (13) is screwed on to the outflow. The disk carries a low voltage pressure switch (7) and the switch cable passage (9).
