The presses (4) in the pressing section (1), are preceded by a sieve belt section (2), where the web is formed. A drying section (3) follows. The machine frame (7) extends along the plant and supports drive- and guidance sections. It carries rollers on bearings in the support structure. Felt belts (6) or other coverings wrap the rollers. Motors (24) drive the rollers (5). The belts have transverse seams which can be opened and closed. The motors are mounted directly on the roller journals. A torque bearer is interposed between motor and machine frame. The support structures have no removable spacers (21). Each of the two support structures extends along the machine over the entire pressing section; each is unitary in both the horizontal and vertical directions. The motors are hydraulic or electrical. They have hollow-shaft (slide-on) attachment. Motors are also provided on the guidance side. There are two or more motors per drive, in series arrangement. There is at least one seam platform (9) above the framing. The foundation rails (8) are free of interruptions where they carry the support structure.
