Color film scanner

The scanner has a film stage with a slit-shaped opening that generates an image of a color original when the original moves across the stage. The opening is illuminated by a white light. A spectrum-splitting unit (6) is positioned between the stage and a photosensitive sensor (9) to divide the image into spectral components. The sensor is oriented so that desired regions of the components strike the sensor. An independent claim is also included for a process for scanning a color original by a film scanner.
