The clamping system prevents lateral slipping with the support section itself, for beams used in support systems in long faces or galleries in underground mining, in conjunction with shields or hydraulic props. In clamps for this purpose, two gripping shells (a,b) are firmly connectable with the support section (g) in connection with two threaded bolts (e,f) and two arresting pieces (c). The arresting pieces may serve both for screwing to the support section and for accommodating the beam concerned, so as to prevent it from slipping sideways. For fixture, wedges may be used instead of screws.
