Film spool for small format film - has sprocket drive wheel and sprung film loop control

The sprocket wheel is located in one side of the spool and is driven by external couplings from the camera. The film is looped over the wheel and is taken by a sprung guide (7) which guides the film leader into an open roll. The spool is suitable for small format films. The sprocket wheel enables a simple drive control from the camera to operate the film indexing. The wheel is in a semi floating mounting and the spool film guides ensure that a set number of sprocket teeth engage the film at all times.
