PURPOSE:To make it possible to readily confirm whether an ignition unit is good or bad and whether the ignition unit is compatible with an igniton coil or not, by producing discharge sparks in a state similar to a practical state of running of an engine, and observing this discharged state visually. CONSTITUTION:The ignition unit 10 is detachably connected, and a charging voltage and a pulser signal are supplied to the ignition unit 10 by a transformer 42 contained in the tester 30. The primary current outputted from the ignition unit 10 is fed to the ignition coil 60 detachably connected to the tester 30 to produce discharge sparks in the discharger 68. From the intensity, etc. of the sparks produced in the discharger, it can be visually confirmed whether there is any trouble in the ignition unit 10. |
