A multi-cylinder reciprocating compressor includes a cylinder block (14) provided with a plurality of pistons (40) each for performing a working fluid suction stroke and a working fluid compression/discharge stroke, and a cylinder head (18) arranged adjacent to the cylinder block (14). The cylinder head (18) defines therein a discharge chamber (76) and an annular suction chamber (74) surrounding the discharge chamber (74) and has a plurality of cross walls (116) arranged at intervals in a circumferential direction thereof. The cross walls (116) reduce the cross-sectional flow area of the suction chamber (74).
