The seed drill has rows of chisel-shaped tines (10) which form furrows for planting the seeds. These are attached to rollers (18) which ensure a uniform depth of furrow and are mounted on parallelogram lever systems (12). The lower front edges of the tines are reinforced with a tungsten carbide plate (15). The tines are mounted in four staggered rows and are at an angle to the longitudinal axis of the drill.
