A primary camshaft 104, eg for the exhaust valves of an i.c. engine, has a camshaft gear 110 and a cam-to-cam gear 108 meshing with the cam gear 112 of a secondary camshaft 106, eg for the intake valves. The fuel pump 116 has a fuel pump gear 114 which engages and is driven by the cam-to-cam gear 108. The double overhead camshafts (302, 342, fig.3) may be mounted in respective banks of an engine with cylinders in vee configuration. |
