PURPOSE:To ensure control of posture orientation, by a method wherein a ground improving device is restrained to the guide part of a scaffold by means of expansible clamp devices, and the stroke distance of the clamp device is regulated according to a detected amount for inclination of a scaffold retainer body. CONSTITUTION:A ground improving device 11 is suspended through a shieve, located to the upper part of a scaffold 2 serving as a retainer body erected on a working ship 1, by means of a wire, and the improving device 11 is restrained to a guide part 8 of the scaffold 2 by means of expansible clamp devices 19 and 19'. When the working ship 1 is inclined by an angle theta during a ground improving work, the angle theta is detected by a ship hull swing amount detecting sensor 21, and a relative position between the working ship 1 and the improving device 11 is detected by a position detecting sensor 22. Thereafter, based on such detecting values, a computer 23 calculates a stroke control amount for maintaining the improving device 11 at constant posture orientation to control the expansible clamp devices 19 and 19'.
