Pharmaceutical compsn. containing as active constituent an L- or DL-phenylglycine of formula (I) or one of its salts (where R is H or Me, R1 is NH2 or OH opt. esterified). Used in treatment of cerebral and cardiac insufficiency, angine pectrois, myocardial, infarction, obesity and diabetes. A typical injectable soln. was prepd. by dissolving L-(+)-2-(4-hydroxy phenyl)glycine in acetic acid and sodium acetate soln. at pH 5 to a concn. of 1%, sterile filtering the soln. and filling into glass vials, each contg. 30 ml of solution.
