<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a counterelectrode for a dye-sensitized solar cell, along with a dye-sensitized solar cell using the same, capable of reducing use of platinum while keeping unchanged counterelectrode performance of the dye-sensitized solar cell. <P>SOLUTION: Nano platinum colloidal particles of high specific surface area whose average particle diameter is ≤50 nm, more preferably 1-10 nm, are fixed on the surface of a conductive base material by electrophoresis method, so that the platinum is carried on the surface of base material.
