PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decompression device for an engine making a plurality of decompression pins accurately synchronize and increasing degree of freedom in engine design in installation to a multi-cylinder engine. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a hollow exhaust cam shaft 7 and a decompression shaft 21 rotatably fitted in a hollow part of the exhaust cam shaft 7. The decompression shaft 21 is constructed by connecting a first and a second decompression shaft divided bodies 25, 26 by a connecting pin 41. The device is provided with a drive means 22 rotating the decompression shaft 21. This device is provided with a first and a second decompression pins 23, 24 movably fitted in pin holes 16, 17 bored in the exhaust cam shaft. A recess part 49 is formed on the decompression pins 23, 24. An eccentric projection part 38 engaging with the recess part 49 is provided on the first and the second decompression shaft divided bodies 25, 26. A cam mechanism 51 converting rotation of the decompression shaft 21 to reciprocating motion of the decompression pins 23, 24 is constructed by the eccentric projection part 38 and the recess part 49.
