PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a key telephone system provided with a transfer phone call function capable of setting a transfer phone call mode, when there is no telephone call reply person in the vicinity of key telephone sets. SOLUTION: The key telephone system includes a key telephone master unit 1, including an RFID signal transmission function, an RFID information receiving function, an ID information table for describing positional information denoting whether an RFID tag exists on the basis of received RFID function, a transfer telephone call mode setting function, and a transfer telephone call function for transferring an incoming call to another telephone set, when the transfer telephone call mode is set; and key telephone sets 2 each including an RFID information read function for reading information of the RFID tag on the basis of an RFID signal, and an RFID information transmission function for transmitting the RFID information or the like to the key telephone master unit 1, and the key telephone master unit 1 discriminates whether there is a telephone call reply person in the vicinity of the key telephone sets at the arrival of an external line incoming call and sets the transfer phone call mode, when there is no telephone call reply person in the vicinity of the key telephone sets.
