PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of designing a land and a metal mask which is capable of reducing the cost of designing the land and the metal mask, shortening a term required for designing, and designing a joint having an enough margin in lifetime. SOLUTION: A model for analyzing an elasto-plastic creep is formed, the strain volume of a model is obtained by an elasto-plastic creep analysis, the thermal fatigue life of the model is estimated on the basis of the strain volume, the optimal shape of the joint of the model is obtained so as to meet prescribed specifications, the necessary amount of a bonding material is calculated on the basis of the joint having an optimal shape, and shapes of the land and the opening of the metal mask are designed on the basis of the obtained optimal shape of the joint and the necessary amount of the bonding material.
