PURPOSE:To ensure and improve the operating stability of a car by determining the running and road surface states in two or more steps from brake and car speed signals and variably controlling the spring constant of a bush in a suspension for the car. CONSTITUTION:A brake signal B and a car speed signal V are input to the AND circuit 3 of a logic circuit 2 and the running state is determined. The logic circuit 2 determines environmental conditions in four steps by combining these input signals. The logic circuit also controls solenoids 16 and 19 through timers 5 and 6 so as to increase the spring constant of a bush at brake operation and during high speed running and decrease the spring constant at other times and the actuating fluid supply into the bush. As a result of this structure, comfortableness to drive a car and its operating stability can be ensured and improved.
