PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pyrolysis apparatus which can exhibit maximum throughput capacity of waste treatment and safely and stably treat pyrolysis residues. SOLUTION: This pyrolysis apparatus 1 for pyrolyzing waste is provided with: a pyrolysis furnace 7 for pyrolyzing the waste to be thrown into a pyrolysis gas and pyrolysis residues; a residue separator 14 for separating metals from the pyrolysis residues; and a metal recovering device 17 for recovering the separated metals.
