<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide solid electrolyte which is unlikely to outflow from an element and easy to handle while having anisotropy for ion conductivity owing to orientation of liquid crystal material which is not polymer. <P>SOLUTION: The solid electrolyte contains ion supply chemical compound, liquid crystal molecules of which molecular weight is less than 10,000 and polymer matrix and is fixed in the polymer matrix in a status where the liquid crystal molecules are oriented.
