<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase image quality in photographing an animation in the case of low illuminance, and to facilitate the treatment of the image data. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises an imaging element having a photoelectric conversion means and a plurality of pixels arranged in a prescribed pattern; a control means for controlling the imaging element; an image processing means for inputting a signal charge which is outputted by the imaging element. When the animation is photographed, the control means changes over thinning reading modes, i.e., the first thinning reading mode for repetitively reading the signal charge of the pixel in the same horizontal line of the imaging element at every prescribed period so as to output it to the image processing means and the second thinning reading mode for repetitively reading the signal charges of the pixels in the different horizontal lines of the imaging element respectively so as to output them to the image processing means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
