<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber type light emitting element capable of obtaining uniform fluorescence quantity over the whole of optical fiber. <P>SOLUTION: The optical fiber type light emitting element comprises an excitation power source that radiates excitation light, a core having a prescribed refractive index, an inner clad that is disposed on the outer circumference of the core and has a refractive index smaller than that of the core and an outer clad that is disposed on the outer circumference of the inner clad and has a refractive index smaller than that of the inner clad. A fluorescent material which absorbs the excitation light and radiates fluorescence is dispersed into a region consisting of the core and inner clad, the excitation light is guided into the region constituted of the core and inner clad and the fluorescence is guided into the region constituted of the core, inner clad and outer clad. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
