PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk device enabling long recording without using a hard disk and also play back of a disk, that records information employing a widely available image information compressing system. SOLUTION: The disk device is provided with a motor 2 which rotates a first optical disk 5 having an information layer that records and/or reproduces user information signals, a tray 3 which carries the first optical disk 5 onto the motor 2, a motor 9 which rotates a second optical disk 10 having an information layer that records and/or reproduces the user information signals, a head 11 which records and/or reproduces the user information signals to the information layer for the first optical disk 5 and records and/or reproduces the user information signals to the information layer for the second optical disk 10 and guiding shafts 7 and 8 which guide the movement of the head 11 between the first optical disk 5 and the second optical disk 10.
