PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head for vertical magnetic recording capable of recording magnetic information so that a sufficient output characteristic can be obtained. SOLUTION: In the magnetic head 1 for vertical magnetic recording having a medium opposing face S which is arranged oppositely to the recording face 5a of a recording medium 5, and which records the magnetic information to the recording medium 5 by emitting a magnetic flux from a magnetic pole 10 provided on a substrate, the magnetic pole 10 includes a bar-shaped pole part 12a having an exposed face 12S exposed to the medium opposing face S side, and the exposed face 12S forms triangle shape constituted of a base which is roughly parallel with the main face of the substrate and two oblique sides located on a substrate side with respect to the base.
