PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method for a silver salt photothermography dry imaging material comprising photosensitive silver halide emulsion, and having high sensitivity and low fogging, and also having excellent stability in the light resistance of an image and excellent stability in preservation before processing, and to provide an image forming method for a silver salt photothermography dry imaging material having high sensitivity and low fogging even under preservation over a long period in particular. SOLUTION: The silver salt photothermography dry imaging material contains: photosensitive emulsion containing non-photosensitive aliphatic carboxylic acid silver salt grains and photosensitive silver halide grains; a silver ion reducing agent; a binder; and a cross linking agent. The photosensitive silver halide grains are a surface latent image type before heat development, and are changed into internal latent type grains, and contain at least one kind of transition metal selected from the group 6 to 11 elements in the 18 group Periodic Table and also comprise a compound expressed by the general formula (C-1) or (C-2). In the image forming method for a silver salt photothermography dry imaging material, the above silver salt photothermography dry imaging material is heat developed while being conveyed at≥25 mm/s.
