PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for a fuel cladding tube which can realize high-temperature strength, excellent corrosion resistance at high temperatures and the restraint of its interaction with fuel in order to respond to higher temperature and pressure in operating conditions at a highly efficient nuclear reactor. SOLUTION: The fuel cladding tube 14 in this invention has a main body 11 of the tube 14 as a base on the outermost periphery, a cladding tube liner layer 12 formed inside the main body 11 of the tube 14 and an intermediate layer 13 which intervenes between the main body 11 of the tube 14 and the cladding tube liner layer 12 and is composed of a material which has a lattice constant between that of a material constituting the main body 11 of the tube 14 and that of a material constituting the cladding tube liner layer 12.
