PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device capable of surely demounting an evaporator in safety even when a circulated refrigerant is kept in a high-pressure state, and well performing repair/replacement of an installation part of the evaporator. SOLUTION: In this cooling device comprising a compressor 21 for compressing the refrigerant, a gas cooler 22 for allowing the refrigerant compressed by the compressor 21 to radiate heat, an electronic expansion valve 24 for adiabatically expanding the refrigerant allowed to radiate heat by the gas cooler 22, and the second evaporator 26 detachably mounted through self-seal couplings 30, 31 for evaporating the refrigerant adiabatically expanded by the electronic expansion valve 24, and circulating the refrigerant among these components while changing its phase to cool the installation part of the second evaporator 26, a control means is further provided to permit the movement of refrigerant to the second evaporator 26 in a normal state, and block the movement of refrigerant to the second evaporator 26 including the self-seal couplings 30, 31, when the second evaporator is demounted.
