The flash gun has an optoelectric converter converting light impulse of a camera flash gun into electrical signals and conveying the signals to an evaluating unit. The unit determines a time span between irradiation of a pre-flash and beginning of a main flash and stores the time span in a permanent memory. The unit controls time delay for releasing the gun with intended flashlight photos, after switching off and resetting the gun.
