HYDROGEN GENERATION METHOD, HYDROGEN GENERATION DEVICE AND FUEL CELL SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen generation method and a hydrogen generation device where, when water is fed to a metal hydrogen complex compound such as tetrahydroborate, the time required until a prescribed amount of hydrogen is generated after the start of the feed of water is shortened, and to provide a fuel cell system utilizing hydrogen generated by the method and device.

SOLUTION: An aqueous solution in which a metal salt as a catalyst precursor such as cobalt chloride is dissolved into a solid metal hydrogen complex compound such as sodium borohydride is fed, and gaseous hydrogen is generated by hydrolysis reaction between the sodium borohydride and water. Since the quantity of the generated heat by the reduction reaction between the aqueous solution and sodium borohydride is added to the reaction system, the temperature is swiftly elevated to a critical temperature at which the generation of the hydrogen is promoted.
