<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup apparatus and a signal processing method capable of reducing false color and raising a sense of resolution. <P>SOLUTION: A signal processing part applies LPF processing to a G pixel after performing pixel mixture (step S1) so that the G pixel corresponds to intervals between an R pixel and a B pixel and their phases (step S2). A correlation value between the LPF processed G pixel, the R pixel, and the B pixel is obtained (step S3).
