PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the upright use of a tray with the vertical attitude in an optional cartridge having no hole part. SOLUTION: The optical disk drive is constituted so that the tray 20 to be mounted with the cartridge 30 housing the disk 31 therein is transferrable to the recordable or reproducible position by loading it in the main body 1 of the optical disk drive and to the position where the cartridge is attachable and detachable by unloading it outside the optical disk drive, and in this optical disk drive, locking protrusions 24 are provided at the side of the tray 20, for locking external faces of corner parts of the cartridge 30.
