PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tilt control method for performing tilt control by obtaining the tilt angle of a recording surface at each position in the radial direction of an optical disk corresponding to rotational speed in reading/writing from/to the optical disk, and to provide an optical disk device. SOLUTION: The 1st whole warp angleθ1 of the recording surface of the optical disk D is measured at a 1st reference rotation speed X1. The 2nd whole warp angleθ2 of the recording surface of the optical disk D is measured at a 2nd reference rotation speed X1. A warp angle increase and decrease coefficient K is calculated from a ratio of a difference between the 1st reference rotation speed X1 and the 2nd reference rotation speed X2 to a difference between the 1st whole warp angleθ1 and the 2nd whole warp angleθ2. The tilt angle of the recording surface at the rotation speed X in reading/writing from/to the recording surface is calculated on the basis of the warp angle increase and decrease coefficient K. The tilt of the pickup 4 is controlled when reading/writing from/to the recording surface on the basis of the calculated tilt angle. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
