1,1-DIPHENYLETHYLENE DERIVATIVE, FUNCTIONALIZED POLYMER AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF FUNCTIONALIZED POLYMER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new compound which can introduce a functional group stable against anionic polymerization into a propagation initiating terminal, a terminating terminal or the inside of a polymer chain, a functionalized polymer obtained using the compound, and a manufacturing method thereof. SOLUTION: 1,1-Diphenylethylene derivative is represented by general formula (I) [wherein R is H, a 1-6C alkyl group or an aziridine derivative residue represented by general formula (II) bonded to the m-position to the vinylidene group; R1-R4are each H or a 1-6C alkyl group; and n is an integer of 1-8]. The functionalized polymer bears the aziridine derivative residue represented by general formula (II) derived from the 1,1-diphenylethylene derivative at the terminals and/or at the inside of the polymer chain.
