PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the durability of a rotary drum driving means by shortening the time of the rotary drum being kept driven as much as possible, and at the same time, to suppress the decrease of the operation rate by the rotation neglect of the rotary drum. SOLUTION: This slot machine is equipped with a plurality of reels 31a to 31c on the outer peripheral surfaces of which a plurality of patterns are drawn, and stepping motors 33a to 33c for rotating those rotary drums. The rotation of the reels 31a to 31c is started in response to a starting operation by a game player, and at the same time, the rotation of the reels 31a to 31c is stopped in response to a stopping operation by the game player. Then, the slot machine determines a winning combination based on the arrangement of stopped patterns. In the slot machine, when the rotation of the reels 31a to 31c does not stop even after a predetermined period of time passes after the finishing of the acceleration of the reels 31a to 31c, a predetermined alarm for preventing the drum from being kept driven is performed.
