A downshaft (1) fitted to an extruder below feeds a principal particulate material (4) to the latter. A feed pipe (9) with a conveying screw (10) for a secondary particulate material (11) enters the downshaft radially. In the center of the downshaft there is a guide (5) which forms a low density zone (8) of the principal material component into which the secondary material is conveyed. A downshaft (1) fitted to an extruder below feeds a principal particulate material (4) to the latter. A feed pipe (9) with a conveying screw (10) for a secondary particulate material (11) enters the downshaft radially. In the center of the downshaft there is a guide (5) which forms a low density zone (8) of the principal material component into which the secondary material is conveyed. The guide (5) is a thin material sheet with two pointed roof-shaped sections (6) running towards each other. A roof ridge (12) created faces an inlet connector (3) of the downshaft (1). At the lower end of the roof-shaped sections perpendicular sections (7) are formed parallel to the inner wall of the downshaft. The feed pipe (9) for the secondary component (11) enters one of two open side faces (13) at the lower end of the perpendicular sections to reach the low density zone (8).
