A filter assembly (50), for cyclonic dust-collection apparatus of a vacuum cleaner, comprises a rotary filter (51) including a suction grill portion at its outer circumference and a discharge port; and a filter-rotating unit (70) for rotating the rotary filter within the dust-collection apparatus, thus removing contaminants carried by suction grill portion and depositing them into a removable dust receptacle (31).
