<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set an adjustment value to adjust the relative positions of dots by restraining an influence of the undulation of a printing medium. <P>SOLUTION: By varying the relative positions of a first dot formed in an ink discharge section and a second dot formed at a time different from the first dot in a prescribed direction, the positions of peak sub patterns in which density peaks in the prescribed direction which are owned the two adjustment printing patterns having a plurality of sub patterns arranged in a manner that makes the density sequentially change along the prescribed direction are made different, the two adjustment printing patterns are printed in a manner that makes them intersect the prescribed direction, and the relative positions are adjusted on the basis of the output of a light receiving section at the time when a change in the density of the two adjustment printing patterns in the prescribed direction is detected by an optical sensor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
