<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an image of a irregular size document onto proper size paper. <P>SOLUTION: Various setting inputs are received (S11) and the width of a document is detected (S12). It is judged whether a synchronization cut is specified or not. In the case where the synchronization cut is specified (S13; Y), a judgement is made whether a paper specification variable magnification is specified or not. In the case where the paper specification variable magnification is specified (S14; Y), a variable magnification α is calculated (S15). Next, a document reading process is performed (S16) and an imaging process is performed (S17). A judgement is made whether an upper margin is present or not. When it is present (S18; Y), a sheet of roll is fed by a length corresponding to a specified margin (S19), and an image forming process is performed (S20). It is judged whether a lower margin is present or not. When it is present (S21; Y), the sheet of roll is fed to a length corresponding to a specified margin.
