PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile machine having a direct transmission function for reading image information from an original document set on an original document setting unit and transmitting the read information and improving operability in reservation setting in the direct transmission state, thereby improving management. SOLUTION: The facsimile machine 10 has the direct transmission function for reading the image information from an original document set on an original document setting unit and transmitting the read information, wherein a reservation setting unit 16 can set transmission reservation if a line is used and transmission cannot be performed in performing the direct transmission. This facsimile machine 10 is provided with an original document set status detecting unit 14 for detecting that the original document set on the original document setting unit is not in a normal setting status, in a state where the transmission reservation is set by the unit 16, and a notification data generating unit 15 for notifying that the original document is not in a normal set status on the basis of the detection output of the unit 14, and a display unit 17.
