PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature control device whose thermal conductivity is highly proper, and which can simultaneously test many samples. SOLUTION: The temperature control device 1, in which a sample mounting section 3 is disposed on a heat transfer plate 2 and a temperature control of a sample 10 disposed at the sample mounting section 3 is carried out, is equipped with a lid 4 covering the sample 10 disposed at the sample mounting section 3. Heat is transferred from the heat transfer plate 2 to the lid 4, and is then transferred from the heat transfer plate 2 and the lid 4 to air in a chamber 25 made up of the heat transfer plate 2 and the lid 4, so as to control the temperature of the sample 10, by using the heat transfer plate 2 and the above air.
