PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress discharge in the surrounding of around an anode. SOLUTION: This image display device is provided with (A) a rear plate having electron emission elements; (B) a face plate having the anode and a conductive film for applying a potential lower than that of the anode thereto; and (C) the spacer arranged so as to straddle the anode and the conductive film.
